Why We Are Partnering for Black Women’s Health

The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness and the LPGA Amateur Golf Association of Madison, WI are proud to partner again this year as we come together to raise crucial funds to support the Foundation's Maternal and Child Health Initiatives. Funds raised will directly support our services to Dane County’s most vulnerable mothers and babies to help them experience healthier births and more stable lives, while we combat Wisconsin's alarming racial birth disparities and Black infant mortality rate.

Since 2012, the Foundation has provided education, advocacy, support, and a growing body of programs and services designed to improve women's physical, mental and financial health, and to combat health and birth disparities that disproportionately impact Black women and babies. Your support and participation amplify our efforts.

We hope you will join us this year!

Frequently Asked Questions

I cannot attend the event. Can I donate to support the fundraiser?

Your interest in supporting our cause is deeply appreciated, even if you cannot attend the event. Every donation is vital in our mission to foster inclusivity at the event. Your generosity helps offset event costs, freeing up resources to further support The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness. Please visit www.ffbww.org to make a donation.

Can I register as an individual golfer for the event?

Yes, you can register as an individual golfer for the event. If you do not indicate a specific list of golfers to be paired with at the time of registration, our team will assign you to a group of other individual registrants. This is a great opportunity for a new and memorable experience on the course, building connections and enjoying the game together.

What is the schedule for the event?

The shotgun time for the event is set for 10:00 am. We recommend arriving by 8:00 am to allow time for check-in, warm-up on the practice range and putting and chipping greens, and networking before heading out on the beautiful course. The duration of the golf outing is expected to be approximately 8 hours, concluding around 5:00 pm.

Can I participate in the golf outing if I am not an experienced golfer?

Yes, the event welcomes golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players. We will also have exciting on-course activities and raffles planned to add even more fun and competition to the day. It will be a great day to enjoy the game of golf, network, and support Black women’s health!

Is there a dress code for the event?

Proper golf attire is required at The Legend at Bergamont for all golfers and non-golfers which includes collared shirts. Pants or shorts are acceptable, but please refrain from wearing denim, athletic wear or cut offs. Hats must be facing forward.

How will the event proceeds be used to support The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness?

The funds raised will be used to support The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness’ Black Maternal and Child Health programs.

Through these programs, we provide wrap-around services, doula care, emergency assistance, and critical resource navigation and family stabilization support to hundreds of pregnant women, mothers and their babies each year in Dane County who are at highest risk of birth complications and economic hardship. Our support translates into healthier pregnancies, births, babies, and stable families who are positioned to thrive.
