Jadyn Sheats is a sophomore at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, majoring in Psychology on the Pre-Med track, with a minor in Spanish. Originally from Nashville, TN, Jadyn has a strong passion for volunteering and working with children of all ages. She has gained her Community Health Worker certification, is a trained phlebotomist, and is a certified motivational interviewer. Her interest in medicine was enhanced after experiencing a challenging journey following a serious injury in 2018. After working with medical professionals, she became determined to make a positive impact in the field. She is grateful and excited for the opportunity to work alongside the Foundation for Black Women's Wellness as a RUSCH Scholar. As an aspiring physician, she looks forward to further unpacking and dismantling the inequities that infiltrate the healthcare system and interfere with Black women receiving the care that they deserve. After completing her undergraduate experience, Jadyn wants to obtain a medical degree and a Master's in public health. She is excited to learn from the professionals at the Foundation for Black Women's Wellness so that she can continue to serve under-represented populations.
