Kayla is majoring in biology on a pre-med track at Spelman College. She is a product of Greenwood Mississippi, the heart of the Mississippi delta. She aspires to become the nation's top surgeon, tackling the health disparities and addressing the social determinants of health that negatively impacts the African American community. Living in the Mississippi Delta has allowed her to witness health disparities that affect black women firsthand. Because of this, she has developed a passion for ensuring that all of her sisters are taken care of. She is beyond elated to join the organization of women and men who share the same passion and dedication as we work to ensure the well-being of God‘s greatest creation, the Black Woman.
