Tam is a native of Mississippi and former Illinois Resident. She relocated to the Madison area in 2014. She is the mother of two boys, ages 29 and 16. She finds passion in being a mother and inspiring /encouraging others around her with an encouraging word or laughter. She enjoys reading, singing, and cooking in her free time. As an addiction counselor and working in the human services field for the past 15 years, she has grown a heart for her career because she sees people who were once hopeless transform their lives with her help and the help of others in the field. She presently works with an amazing team at Dane County where she is able to continue to pursue her passion in mental health and substance abuse as well as assist people with housing needs. She was inspired to change when noticing intermittent spikes in her blood pressure that began also with the death of my Mother in 2016. In addition, she began to have problems with anxiety and noticed a decline in her overall health. Her goal is that other women will look at her situations and know that they too, can transform their life and be well mentally, emotionally, and physically.
